The daily menu is seafood friendly, and it changes regularly, being seasonally and delivery dependent. The seafood specials will be dictated by what comes in fresh on the boats on any given day.
The daily lunch menu features their popular chowder, Castletownbere open crab sandwich, a favourite seafood pie or the tasting plate of Gubbeen cheese, homemade Pate with red onion marmalade, quenelle of fresh crab and Union Hall smoked salmon.
In the evening there are fish and chips, fresh prawn farcies, Castletownbere scallops and the seafood basket of prawns, scallops, salmon and monkfish. For the carnivore there are choices as well including the famous Clonakilty black puddings with lardons, prime sirloin steak or roast Irish duckling. If you have room, the desserts are all made in house and are delicious.
An Sugan is busy for most of the day, so whether you drop in for a drink a bowl of chowder or a full meal, their reputation is well deserved. When in Clon it’s a must.
